What is it

It is CAIXA’s supervisory body, composed of five effective members and their alternates, appointed by the Minister of State for Finance. To be part of the board, it is necessary to have moral integrity and an unblemished reputation, have a higher education degree, have technical capacity and experience in the economic-financial, legal or business administration areas.

The council is responsible for supervising the actions of administrators and verifying compliance with legal duties and the statute; to give an opinion on the annual rendering of accounts by CAIXA, funds and programs operated or managed; and examine CAIXA’s semi-annual and annual financial statements.

Itanielson Dantas Silveira Cruz

Born in Currais Novos/RN, he has been working since 2014 as Finance and Control Auditor at the National Treasury Secretariat, where he currently holds the position of General Coordinator of Financial Relations and Analysis of States and Municipalities of the Undersecretariat for Intergovernmental Financial Relations.

On May 29, 2020, he took office as a member of the Fiscal Council of Caixa Econômica Federal. He holds a degree in Economics and Public Policy Management from the University of Brasília – UnB and a Master’s in Economics from Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV. He also has specializations in Business Management from Fundação Dom Cabral – FDC and in Auditing, Finance and Control from FGV. On May 11, 2021, he was appointed as chairman of the Fiscal Council.

Fernando de Holanda Barbosa Filho

A native of Rio de Janeiro/RJ, he has been a professor at Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV since 2006. Since January 2019, he has been Secretary of Public Employment Policies (SPPE) at the Ministry of Economy (ME).

He holds a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ, a Master’s in Economics from the Graduate School of Economics – EPGE – FGV, and a PhD in Economics from New York University – NYU.

On August 31, 2020, he took office as a member of the Fiscal Council of Caixa Econômica Federal.

Daniel de Araújo e Borges

Born in Brasília/DF, Finance and Control Auditor at the National Treasury Department since 2001, where he has worked in the Public Debt area and as General Coordinator of the Sovereign Fund of Brazil and General Coordinator of Planning and Tax Risks.

He currently holds the position of Program Director at the Special Secretariat of Finance of the Ministry of Economy. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Brasília – UnB and a master’s degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul-UFRGS. On May 4, 2021, he took office as a member of the Fiscal Council of Caixa Econômica Federal.

Jorge Luiz Lima

Natural from Minas Gerais, he is a Mechanical Engineer, graduated from PUC MG/ 84. He has been working since March 2021 as Secretary for Development of Industry, Commerce, Service and Innovation, at the Ministry of Economy. He worked at Sudecap and Vale.

He was Executive Director of Cushman Wakefield. In addition, he was CEO of several companies in different segments, including: Semco Johnson Controls, SMV (Facilites), Semco Serviços Integrados (holding with businesses in the HR, BPO, Technology, Financial Services and business leverage segments), ISS Service Systems, AGV Logística, BRF Latam, JSL Logística and Semco Partners (holding company with businesses in the Education, Hotel, Real Estate, Consulting, Construction, Energy, and Financial Services segments).

On May 25, 2021, he took office as a member of the Fiscal Council of Caixa Econômica Federal.
